Barbara B. Holland

Barbara Blackman Holland "Bobby", 76, passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Bobby was born Dec. 27, 1937. in Charlotte, daughter of the late James Henry and Ruth Simpson Blackman. She was a 1956 graduate of Central High School and dedicated her life to caring for her children, family and all of those whom she loved. She was an incredible representation of what real and selfless love looks like; never judged and loved her family and stood by them unconditionally. She was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Jr fan. She enjoyed bird watching, flowers, and baking cakes for her children, grandchildren, countless friends and family over the years. Bobby is loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Onzie C. Holland; brothers, William L. "Billy" Blackman and James Terry Blackman. She is survived by her children, Beverly Stancil (Tommy), Chrisie Stancil Horonzy (Rusty), Ricky Stancil (Cherie), Joe Stancil (Ellen); her grandchildren, Adam Jetton (Jessica), Daniel Jetton (Erika), Wesley Horonzy, Christopher Stancil (Tara) Kimberly Stancil (BJ), Kelly Stancil, Timothy Stancil (Nicki), Steven Berry (Emily), Wyatt Stancil; and great-grandchildren Lahna Stancil, Melia Stancil, and Olivia Chandler; her brothers' children whom she loved as her own, Tracy Blackman Frye, Matt Blackman, Stephanie Blackman Puckett, and Zachary Blackman; sisters-in-law Ann Blackman and Tina Blackman, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and her beloved dog, Sadie.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 Thursday, March 6, 2014, at McEwen Funeral Service Charlotte Chapel, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. Pastor Jack Homesley will officiate at a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at Sharon Memorial Park.
