Arthur Glenn Bartlett, Jr., 85, died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Carillon Assisted Living in Monroe. Born in Woodlawn, VA on October 28, 1926, he was a son of the late Arthur Glenn Bartlett, Sr. and Ocie Emler Lineberry Bartlett. Mr. Bartlett was a retired mechanical engineer and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was Past Master of the Keystone Lodge #726, a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite, member of the York Rite and member of the Oasis Shrine.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at Noon, Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Wilson Funeral Service with Rev. Dean Burris officiating. Burial with military and Masonic honors will follow in Charlotte Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM to Noon prior to the funeral.
Mr. Bartlett is survived by two daughters, Sheila Kinley, of Mint Hill, Pat Satterfield and husband Mark, of Charlotte; a son, Michael Bartlett and wife Mary, of Matthews; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bartlett was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Claire O. Bartlett; brothers Joe Bartlett, Ted Bartlett and a sister, Betty Burnette.
