Archie Jessie Parker Jr.

Archie Jessie Parker , Jr. 83, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born in Charlotte to parents Rosa and Archie Parker, he learned at an early age the responsibilities of providing for family and taking care of the people who surrounded him within life. This would develop him into the loving, giving, providing man that he was.

In a picture book story he met and married his beautiful high school sweetheart Janice, a love affair and marriage that endured 63 years, a fine example to his family.

After a distinguished career at Bellsouth that saw him leading the way in Yellow Page sales to managing his Customer Service Team, Archie retired so he and Janice could spend more time together with family at the coast and home in Charlotte. He loved to fish the high seas and had many an interesting story to tell for those who cared to listen, all his fishing stories were true.

In addition to his parents Archie was predeceased by a daughter, Tina Parker, a Brother, Tommy Parker, and a sister Phyllis Parker. Archie is survived by his loving Wife Janice, Daughter Cindy Hurleigh (Steve), Son Jeff Parker (Brandi), and Daughter Kim Parker.

He is also survived by his Grandchildren, Matthew & Troy Rives, Justin, Jordan, and Savannah Parker, Jessika Tucker, Parker and Jakob Brittain, two beautiful Great Grandchildren, Adelynn and Elliott Rives, and his Sister Annette James.

Archie may be gone from this Earth but leaves behind a great family legacy and many who were touched by his smile and his spirit. We celebrate a life well lived.

Services will be held at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210 on Thursday March 1, 2018 with a Visitation beginning at 1:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm.
