Born April 20, 1932 in Mint Hill, NC she was the daughter of the late Sandy Caswell Ross and Rosalind Gaddy Ross.
Ann Graduated from Bain School and was crowned Miss Mint Hill. She was also crowned the Carousel Queen of Charlotte in 1949 and road atop the float in the Belk Thanksgiving Parade. Ann was very involved in her churches. At First Presbyterian in Myrtle Beach she sang in the choir, was a Deacon and an Elder.
When she and her late husband King moved back to Charlotte she reunited with Myers Park Presbyterian Church. She was a Deacon, an Elder, president of The Women of the Church and also worked in the office as a secretary.
Ann enjoyed life and loved meeting people, especially children. Her family was so important to her. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Alexander and Ross Davies (William); her grandsons, Matthew Loftis (Kimberly) and Kyle Loftis (Jessica); and great-grandchildren: Tristan, Sydney, Ava and Riley. Ann is also survived by her sisters, Eloise Black, Jean Greene, Betsy Bledsoe and Sue Howell; and many nieces and nephews from her parent’s marriage, as well as from Sandy Ross’s first marriage.
She was preceded in death by her husband, King Maxwell; brothers, Conley, Dwight, Ralph, Lanny and Hal; as well as sisters and brothers from her father’s first marriage.
Wednesday June 26th there will be a graveside service for the family at Elmwood Cemetery. A memorial service will be held the same day at 11:00 am at Myers Park Presbyterian Church with a reception following.
