Ann Mansfield Harris, 82, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018. She was born Vista Ann Mansfield on September 18, 1935 in Durham, NC, to Walter Dailey and Vista Mansfield. She graduated Greensboro Senior High in 1953. Ann worked as a secretary for Burlington Industries where she met Goldston Franklin Harris and they were married on March 6, 1955.
Ann was very involved in the life of her church, Mouzon United Methodist, serving on the Staff Parish Committee for many years, very active with the United Methodist Women, and serving as a delegate to the Annual Methodist Conference at Lake Junaluska. She used her crafting talents to support the Annual Fall Bazaar at church for the benefit of many local missions over the years. Ann was a loving mom whose faith and generous spirit were evident in her actions as well as the twinkle in her eyes. Whether riding a rollercoaster at Carowinds, touring the Grand Canyon in a helicopter, or frequently enjoying Chinese or Indian Cuisine, she had a zest for life.
Thank you to the ICU and Hospice Nurses of Presbyterian Hospital for their loving care and Dr. Christopher Stephenson of Pure Cardiology for his compassionate guidance to maximize quality of life. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Goldston F. Harris, brother, Charles E. Mansfield, and daughter, Cynthia A. Harris. She is survived by her sons, Edward F. Harris and Thomas G. Harris; daughters, Sarah H. Warren (Tim) and Martha J. Harris (Brad Nagel); and grandchildren, Garrett M. Warren (Lee Conell), Erin G. Warren, Emily B. Nagel, and Willa A. Nagel.
