Allen was a long-time residence of Mint Hill, graduating from Independence High School in 1969. He later obtained his degree as a certified Automobile Technician from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, North Carolina. A self-made businessman, he owned three successful Automobile Parts Stores for many years (Dilworth Auto Supply, Selwyn Auto Parts and Mint Hill Auto Parts). At the time of his death, he was employed as a sales technician with Diesel Equipment Company.
Allen was passionate about sports and loved coaching both baseball and soccer for the Mint Hill Athletic Association. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, Allen was the Mint Hill Athletic Association Commissioner and loved the position. Not only did he love the sports, he loved the children he coached. Allen’s coaching skills helped children build skills safely, celebrate their successes, and learn from their losses to create confident and resilient young adults.
Allen loved life. He was a happy-go-lucky person, loved joking with people, loved his son, loved the shag world and made many close friends over the years. He was a hard working man and worked right up until the day he passed.
The family would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.
Allen will be dearly missed by his son, Jason Jordan and all who knew him.
