Alex James Schechter

Alex was born January 29, 1986 in Rochester, NY and lived in Boston, MA and Novi, MI with his parents and brother, Lee and sister, Samantha, before moving to NC. The love that surrounded Alex continued to grow with the additions of his sister-in-law Danielle and future brother-in-law Brenden.

Alex attended special programs at Boston College Campus School in MA; Cooke School and New Gateways in MI. Alex was more than a special person. Whether it was his dashing good looks or contagious laughter, Alex brought countless people into his and his family’s lives. Everyone who knew Alex felt very lucky to have been a part of his life.

Alex’s family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Atrium Health-Cabarrus ICU staff for their wonderful care and all of the caregivers throughout the years who brought joy into Alex’s life.

A celebration of life for Alex will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM at McEwen Funeral Home Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. Following the celebration of life will be a reception from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Home Reception Hall, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.
