Mr. Huggins joined the U.S. Navy at age 17, served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and was a veteran of the Korean War. Jim had a lifelong love for fishing, flying, business entrepreneurship and “stirring the pot”.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey L. Huggins; daughter, Beth Anne (Huggins) Doan (Chau Andrew Doan); grandchildren, Austin J. Huggins, Alicen L. Huggins, Jade K. Doan, Grace Noel Doan, Jackson Doan, numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and companion, Martha Mills of Prosperity, SC. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Garnet Lee Huggins; sons, James Lincoln Huggins and Thomas James Huggins; grandson, Paul M. Huggins and sisters, JoAnn Lyon and Vernie Huggins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Byron Cemetery in Fairborn, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to PETS, Inc., 300 Orchard Drive, West Columbia, SC 29170.
