Todd was born on October 23, 1973 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Sharon and Richard Williams. At Oklahoma State University, he met the love of his life, Kerry Branson, and married her in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 8, 1996. He received his law degree from the University of Arizona in 1999 and practiced commercial litigation for 13 years in Phoenix, Arizona before retiring to spend more time with his family. In recent years, he focused on various investment and business endeavors. Todd and Kerry celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary earlier this year. They had two sons, Ryan (15) and Luke (11), and built a beautiful life together filled with love, laughter, silliness, and many trips to St. Martin to relax on the beach.
Growing up, Todd loved soccer and Tae Kwon Do and was very active in debate. He ignited that passion again in adulthood as he dedicated his time to Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu, even earning a Blue Belt. This passion for mixed martial arts was one he was able to share with his sons and encapsulated Todd’s strength, discipline, commitment, and perseverance. Todd was incredibly dedicated to his family in a way that many aspire to be. He was passionate about his son’s passions, supported Kerry’s dreams and aspirations, and would do anything for his family. He was athletic, loved reading, and had many hobbies with friends and family, including football and poker. Todd was quiet on the surface, but a little louder in smaller groups. He was intelligent, sarcastic, and caring with a quick wit that snuck up on you. His humor wasn’t the only thing subtle about him; he had a strong warmth and kindness for those he loved. He was a gift to his family and his friends and a calming balance for his family.
He is survived by his wife Kerry, his two children, Ryan and Luke, his father Richard Williams, mother Sharon Williams, brother Brian (Tawni) Williams, sister Julie (Jeff) Wille, his Uncle Kent (Kathy) Curtis, cousin Katie (Paul) Matheu, nephews Beckett and Weston Williams, niece Jana Wille, dogs Ziggy and Molly, horse Koolaid, and many friends and family.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 2nd at Christ Church of The Valley (CCV Chandler) at 12:00pm at 5835 W. Ray Rd., Chandler, AZ 85226. Gathering following at La Casa Blanca Restaurant, 24605 E. McQueen Rd., Chandler, AZ 85249.
In lieu of flowers the family has established a scholarship. The funds raised will be used as scholarships for children attending Gracie Barra Ocotillo Brazilian Jui Jitsu, a martial arts school Todd, Luke and Ryan attended together. Everyone who knew Todd knows how much his children meant to him and we want to continue his legacy for children in need. Donations can be sent via Go Fund Me at https://gofund.me/13b13844
