Terry was born in Billings, Montana to Richard and Fay Gabel. He grew up with his brother Darrell and sister Janine on the family farm. He graduated from West Billings High School in 1968. Terry served in the Air Force working in underground intelligence during the Vietnam war. After serving his country, he began work in the retail jewelry business. He opened his first store in the 1980’s in Kentucky. He then moved to Chandler, Arizona where he ran a successful jewelry business for over 35 years and raised his two sons Kirk and Kent.
During his life Terry loved traveling, especially to tropical locales. He loved cars. He loved going to car shows, and NASCAR events with his friends, especially Bill and his brother Darrell. On the weekends he enjoyed his time off in the pool or in front of the grill with a drink in his hand.
If you spoke with Terry in the last 15 years you would know that his grandchildren, Olivia and Christian, were the light of his life. He often commented that he never thought he would have loved playing ponies and attending Olivia’s tea parties as much as he did and she has stolen his heart.
We will always remember his laugh and how his comments could change the energy of any room. We love you Papa Terry and we will hold you in our hearts forever.
Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
