Rena LaVerne Baker, age 86, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. LaVerne was born on October 14, 1936 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Jasper and Embree Peters. She was married to James Baker on July 17, 1957 in Anaheim, California.
LaVerne worked at Motorola for 30 years. She was a member of the Monte Vista Nazarene Church. LaVerne had a passion for serving others through her church. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jasper and Embree Peters; brother Wayne Peters. She is survived by her children Pamela Nicol and Cindy Ross; grandchildren Eric Nicol, Jeffrey Nicol, Andrew Taylor, Nathan Taylor; Great Grandchildren Lincoln Taylor, Paxton Taylor, Maddox Taylor, Ezekiel Taylor and Riggins Taylor; Siblings Toni Teshler and Kelton Peters.
