He attended Western Hills High School where he developed a love of the arts; particularly dance and ballroom dance for which he carried a passion that remained throughout his life and was still teaching students all the way throughout his 70s. He also loved entertaining the young grandkids taking on the role of Santa with a sack full of gifts. Paul was also an avid professional baseball fan throughout his life; the Reds, the Pirates, and the Dbacks, so much so that he has a commemorative brick with his name on it built into Chase Field. Written on the brick is his name and the phrase “A is A,” which is an ode to another passion that he carried throughout his life, an affinity for the author Ayn Rand and her philosophical ideas. Paul also had a love for board games and was always up for a game of Backgammon or Chess.
Paul is survived by his 3 sons and 2 daughters; Eric Westrich, Sean Westrich, Curtis Westrich, Kira Westrich, and Nakita Buchanan. As well as his 7 grandchildren; Taylor Westrich, Austin Westrich, Andrew Westrich, Kyla Simon, Nico Westrich, Grant Buchanan, and Santi Westrich.
