Martha Hilts

Martha was born Martha Santiago Sanchez on October 30, 1981 to Severiano Santiago and Adela Sanchez in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. She spent her first 14 years there and, in January of 1996, moved with her Mother and siblings to the Phoenix area, settling in Chandler. She attended Chandler High School and graduated as part of the class of 2000.

At the age of 15, Martha accepted our Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized in The Name of Jesus at East Valley Apostolic Church on December 08, 1996 in Chandler.

On January 4, 2003, she was married to Christopher Hilts. They have two beautiful children – Jessica and Anthony, ages 12 and 8. The Hilts family has resided in Ahwatukee since 2006 where they have made a place in the Lakewood community.

Martha always worked hard to pull her family together. She worked at Pacific Scientific for over 15 years and was working toward her bachelor’s degree in Business Management, but always made time to spend with her family. She would reach out to host dinners and family get-togethers, and organize camping trips and annual family vacation trips during the summer. She was always loving, caring, and giving, dedicating both her time and services to her family, church, and community. This was despite the fact that she was very busy with a full time job and studying for school.

Martha is survived by her loving husband, Chris; daughter, Jessica; son, Anthony; mother, Adela; father, Severiano; three brothers Esteban, Valentin, Rafael, and their wives; sister, Maria; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
