Kenneth Roy Hansen, (73), of Chandler passed away March 1, 2023. Kenneth, fondly know as Kenny or Ken, was born to Gerald and Ruth Maxine Hansen in Jackson, MN on September 8, 1949. He was a talented baseball player who was a member of Arizona State’s 1969 National Championship Team. The following year, he threw the 2nd no hitter in ASU history. In 1971 he was signed by the Cincinnati Reds. He went on to work for Purcell Tires for over 40 years. Kenny is survived by his wife Barbara of 45 years, daughter Jeanne, sons, Grady (spouse Kristi) and Kenny (spouse Sara) and three granddaughters, Kaylee, Maddie, and Marley. Kenny is also survived by his siblings Joyce Smitheran Woodroffe, Jim Hansen and Carole Hansen Peterson. He is preceded by his parents Gerald and Ruth Maxine. Aside from his love for baseball, and loyalty to Purcell’s, he loved going on family vacations, family pool days and attending any kind of sporting events. He adored his 3 granddaughters, and they will miss him deeply.
Kenny’s celebration of life will be held on Saturday March 18, 2023 at Phoenix Municipal Stadium (5999 E Van Buren St Phoenix, AZ 85008) at 6pm. Please park across the street and walk over the bridge. Disabled parking is available in the Main Lot directly in front of the stadium.
