She was born on October 18, 1933, one of 4 children to John Carl and Louise (Shepherd) Guckeyson, in Akron, Ohio. She grew up in Akron, and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in Ohio. A secretary, mother, and wife, Karlene met her husband Hilmar in Clearwater Florida, and they married in 1961 in Clearwater. She enjoyed horses, dogs, cooking, reading books, and travelling.
Karlene is survived by her children, Sabrina K. Murphy (Steve), Michael K. Lange (Cheron); grandchildren, Hannah B. Murphy, Konrad M. Lange, Lauren D. Lange; sisters Genese Dudley, Ruth VanGemert and Patricia Harlan.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 13, at 11am at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, with graveside committal service immediately following at Valley of the Sun Cemetery.
