Donald Earl Hill

Donald Earl Hill, 94, of Apache Junction, AZ formerly of rural Low Moor,Iowa entered into his eternal rest with his Savior on Sunday, February 19, 2023 in Apache Junction. Donald was born on May 4, 1928 to Velva Mae (Cousins) and Robert Earl Hill in Clinton, Iowa. He attended Liberty School district #4 in Eden Township and graduated from Clinton High School in 1946. He attended Iowa State University. He served in the United States Air Force in the early 1950's. Donald married Betty Joan Arey Smith on June 11, 1971. She passed away on December 22, 2009. Mr. Hill farmed with his father in Clinton Iowa for many years. He enjoyed bowling and worked at his Uncle's bowling alley setting the pins by hand. He later sold and serviced lawn mowers and small engines, worked at Norman Implement Company of Erie, Illinois and did commercial truck driving. He also enjoyed antique Oliver tractors and working on big trucks. He always enjoyed the adventure of traveling and worked as a campground host at Meteor Crater, AZ.

Donald is survived by nieces and nephews, Daniel (Kathy) Hill of Hastings, Michigan, Debbie (Lee) Stofer of Camanche, Iowa, and Julie Martinez (Jon Kramer) of Minneapolis, Minnesota and a sister-in-law Jean Hill of ruaral Camanche and step children. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Thomas G. Hill, a sister Betty Martinez, brother-in-law John Martinez and a nephew James Hill.
