With sadness in our hearts, but peace that she is in God’s presence, our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Debbie Cannon, left this earth on June 12, 2023 after a brave battle with cancer. She was surrounded by love, she so consistently gave to everyone she came in contact with.
Debbie was born in 1949. She grew up in Buckeye and graduated high school in Maryvale. She met and married Tom Cannon, where they remained married for over 50 years. They were long time Chandler residents. Back in the day, Tom brought her out to what is now the Ocotillo area, to see where he planned on building her a home. She was not thrilled to say the least, as there was not much out in Chandler back around 1973. But they did indeed put down stakes and a home was built … and a beautiful life began.
Debbie helped run an electrical contracting business for years with her husband, then they left construction for real estate investing. She eventually obtained her real estate license and held a long career as an agent. Along with real estate and taking care of her family (and many farm animals!), Debbie found joy in creating and selling her many beautiful crafts and meeting with her “bowling ladies” every week.
Her laugh was contagious, her pride was in her family and her beauty was ever-lasting. She was known for epic family Christmas celebrations and for making annual camping trips memorable for everyone. She was a patriot and encompassed everything that stands for. “The Ranch” was the house that built us and there was always an open door policy. The back patio held many “coffee talks” over the years where she gave us all life advice we took into our lives. She truly created a safe place for family and friends.
She has left behind her daughters, Veronica Cannon and Stephanie Bruno, grandchildren Haley Kamouzis, Nikkolina Kamouzis and Zach Bruno. Also sister, Vicky King, along with nieces and nephews and friends who are family, who will miss her everyday. Not to mention, her two Golden Doodles, Ozzie and Stella.
Our family plans on holding a Celebration of Life on September 23, 2023 at “The Ranch” in Chandler. Details to follow.
Ah, tell who you love, how much you love 'em
Don't just say it, nah, you gotta show 'em
Every chance you get, to get to know her better
Remember forever don't last forever
Take it from me and my brand new point of view
The biggest regret of your life
Won't be what you did
It'll be what you didn't do.
