As a child he exceled in math and science and had a strong curiosity for how things worked. As a result, he often spent time disassembling clocks and radios. Later, at the age of 18, he moved to Montreal, Canada to pursue his passion in Engineering. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Electrical Engineering with high honors from University of Montreal and McGill University, respectively.
He later came to the U.S. to pursue his doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of New York University where he graduated at the top of his class. During this time he visited Mexico City where he met Sarah, the love of his life, and remained married for 53 years.
Carrie continued work with several companies doing classified satellite work for the U.S. Government with his last job working on the Iridium Satellite Constellation System, working to place 66 satellites into orbit to provide satellite phone coverage for the entire earth’s surface.
He is survived by his wife Sarah, his two children Jean-Pierre and Nicole, and his five grandchildren: Alex, Nicholas, Julian, Quentin, and Leila (ages 12-15 years).
