Aida was born in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico on September 9, 1928, to Basilio Davila and Clementina Rivera. Aida married Pablo A. Marrero Boccheciamp at the age of twenty-one. Their union was short-lived when Pablo, while serving his country, was killed by a landmine in the Korean War. From that union, Pablo was born. Aida moved to N.Y. to start a new life with her son. Five years later, she met Luis Montalvo at church. The couple married and moved back to Puerto Rico. From that union, they had two girls, Wanda & Rebecca. Aida loved to take Luis across the United States. From Puerto Rico, they moved to Orlando Florida for five years, then to Phoenix, where most of their grandchildren lived. They lived ten years in Phoenix, but she always longed to be back home in Puerto Rico, affectionately calling it her country. They lived there until Luis went to be with the Lord. A few years later Aida moved back to Phoenix with Becky & Kurt, always sentimental for her homeland and people.
Aida was a bookkeeper. She was very good with numbers and very meticulous at her job. She worked at Rogers Co. where she took care of all their financial records. After, she worked with her brother-in-law, Sam Fogleman, in his engineering firm. But Aida’s real passion was making flower arrangements for weddings, birthdays, and other functions. She also loved to sew and work on interior designs. By the age of nine, Aida was already sewing. She sewed dresses, pants, shirts, and made beautiful curtains. She also loved to sing. Luis and Aida were part of the choir at their Baptist church in Puerto Rico. Everywhere she went, she would share her walk with Christ. She made sure we all had a Christian education, that in everything we put the Lord Jesus Christ first. She was always giving advice to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Aida passed away surrounded by her loved ones. She will be greatly missed. We love you Mom, we love you Abuela.
Aida is survived by her children, Pablo (Ketty), Wanda (Peter), and Rebecca (Kurt). Her grandchildren, Paola (Bryan), Kamila (Brian), Jonathan (Lucille), Desiree (Jack), Gabriela (Philip), Aziel (Danielle) and Adriana (Erik). Her great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Briela, Imilia, Mateo, Raquel, Nico, Leilani, Brenley, Ellis, and Genevieve.
