Je suis vraiment désolée.... mes souvenirs remontent à très loin, une visite chez-vous à Chambly avec mon père Gérard Sangollo, ma mère  Antoinette (PomPom) et mes soeurs et frères (Raymonde, Monique, moi Claudette, Laurent, Pierre et Serge il y a plus de 70 ans!!!  Je me rappelle que  aunt Roslyn avait toujours un charmant sourire et voulait toujours nous faire plaisir.
Mes plus sincères sympathies à toute votre famille. Je crois sincèrement que les personnes qui nous ont aimées et qui décèdent ne sont jamais bien loin de nous.

Mes sincères condoléances. Son départ soudain a dû laisser un grand vide dans vos vies. Nous pensons à vous très fort.

I remember Roslyn as being such a kind, warm and empathetic person. She always wore a warm smile,  and had the kindest eyes. In family gatherings, she would inquire  about each of our lives, from the younger to the older, and seemed to know and remember details from each of our lives from past conversations or then news shared through different family members, which made us feel “seen and heard” and gave us a sense of importance. She had this calming effect on people, and I remember just sitting next to her as a child, too timid to speak, but feeling heard without saying a word. Roslyn will always remain a special person in my heart. 

Dear Tony, Bobby, and Carol, I am so sorry for your loss.
Walking with my brother Frank on River Road up the driveway to play with Bobby. We were always met with big smiles from Rosie and Tony. She was the kindest person you could ever meet and treated Frank and me like one of her own. Impossible to count the number of cookies and snacks she would have ready for us after a vigorous game of cowboys and Indians. Walking up to church for midnight mass and hearing a soft voice saying do you want ride with us? Sitting on the swing with Rosie, just hanging out being kids and feeling as part of the family.
When mom went to the hospital and all six of us had to stay with neighbors Frank and I were taken in by Rosie and Tony. A warm home away from home. I have remembered that time so often over the past 60 years always with the warmest feelings. I will never forget her voice, her smile and kindness.

Rozie Smith. Her name makes me smile and feel warm inside.  She and Tony  cared for me many times when I was young .  The first time, I was  about 5 years old and mom was in the hospital.  I can still remember the smell of Nivea cream and the  soft feel of her rubbing it on my cheeks. This she said was so they wouldn’t get chapped, when I went out to play in the cold.  I always felt safe and loved in her home.
   In later years,  they took  me to compete at the pony races in Ormstown.   I was spoiled with midway food , motel stays and horse shows. It was like a dream and holds the best memories of my youth in Chambly.
I am so grateful that on our last visit I thanked her for all the times she had cared for me and how her thoughtfulness had changed my life.  Her kindness and gentle ways and those fond memories are forever in my heart .  
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow and please know I share in your loss.

When I got a call from a friend  telling me about her passing I was shocked, I remember  her well from when I lived in  Chambly .

I am so sorry for your loss of a wonderful wife,mother and friend.
Even after we moved away and returned to Chambly  a visit to the Smith house was a must.She always came to the door with a big smile and a hug.
There are so many great memories of Tony and Ros working with them in the barn,or sitting on the wooden swing talking the afternoon away.Going for a horse ride and them in the pony cart behind me was the best time I ever had .
She will be missed by so many,thanks for good memories I have of you RIP forever in my heart.

I am so deeply sorry to hear of your moms passing. Please accept my deepest condolences and sympathies to all of you.
Your mom is always fondly remembered as a long time neighbour and baby sitter.😊 I have many fond memories of my time at the house across the tracks and the fun times I had there.  
She will be sorely missed by all.

There are exceptions in this life, Rosie was one of them. Kind, soft spoken and always a smile that made you as a child feel safe. As I got older no matter how long I was gone there was always a hug and kiss when I returned. Always a hug, kiss, and a wave goodbye when I left. They say it takes a village to raise a child Rosie and Tony’s house was our village.After so many years, nothing has ever changed, always hug and a kiss and a sense of belonging to something that you can not put words too. After the tears my dear Rosie , we will smile and remember you were in our lives.

Tony, Carol, and Bobby, I'm sorry for your loss. There are special moments that can change one’s life and when you and Roz took me in as a little boy because my mom was in the hospital was one of them. The memories of the time I stayed at your house or riding your horses or the best cup of tea I ever had that Ros  made for me, it was sweet like honey just like Ros. You and Ros taking me to Ormstown with Anne and seeing for the first time the big draft horses, that is when I knew I wanted to become a farmer, thank you!  for being a good neighbour and lifelong friends.
