Virginia Cananita Landry, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Born on March 30, 1942, in Manila, Philippines. Preceded in death by her loving husband Richard August Bulot Landry Sr., parents Leonardo Cananita and Nainai and her grandson John Ross Martinez. Sister Erlinda Didway (Joe). Sister-in-law of Barbara L. Kellum (Billy Kellum). Beloved mother of Richard August Bulot Landry, Jr. (Denice K. Landry), Regina L. Ferand (Joseph A. Ferand), Barnabi August Bulot Landry, Sr. (Jennifer Lynn Landry) and Leonard Gerard Landry (Tanya W. Landry). Grandmother of Ashley Lynn, Corey Michele, Emily Marie, Jessica Renee', Aubry James, Barnabi, Jr., Kimberly Frances, Angelica Nicole and Lennon Gerard-Lewis. Great-grandmother of Yur’godsur Belcher, Eliyanna Belcher, Princeton Maxon, Vivian Grace Detweller, Lillian Elizabeth Ferand, Serenity Landry, Ruby Belcher, Oliver James Ferand, Olivia Rose Ferand, and Jeramie Maxon Jr. Also survived by various nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Virginia was an avid gardener, a proud member of the Council of Aging, and an involved part of the AARP. In addition, she was a devout parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass to be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor, 2320 Paris Rd, Chalmette, LA 70043, on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM - 12:00PM.

Burial will follow at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA 70043. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Our Lady of Prompt Succor.
