Robert Keith Owens

Robert Keith Owens passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 at the age of 66. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Dustin Keith Owens, his parents Curtis Ovey Owens, Jr. & Vita Menner Owens, and his nephew Curtis Ovey Owens, IV. He is survived by his siblings Curtis Owens, III (Kim), Ronnie Owens, (Phyllis) and Diana “Dee” Owens Bundy (Bruce); his nephews Gregory Owens and Jordan Owens (Madison); his nieces Brandi Bundy, Kaylee Bundy, Reagan Bundy and Shelby Bundy; his great niece Lauren Owens and great nephew Luke Owens. Robert is also fondly remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Robert was born in Jacksonville, FL and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in Mandeville, LA. He was a retired USN Disabled Veteran who proudly served his country and a devout and dedicated Christian who loved the Lord. He enjoyed a long career as a Master Craftsman of air conditioning and refrigeration.

Robert truly enjoyed life through his simple pleasures of fishing, golfing, taking cruises and playing cards with his family (One Eyed Jacks were always wild). He found pleasure in the details of everyday life and cared deeply for those around him. Robert will always be remembered for his loyalty and dedication to his country and his family, his devotion to his Lord and Savior, his caring spirit and his laughter. He was well loved and will be deeply missed by us all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, August 20th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a celebration of Robert’s life beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
