Mildred Elizabeth Stewart

In loving memory of Mildred “Millie” Stewart, a devoted mother to Donna J. Windmann (Calvin), Herman “Ray” Stewart Jr. (Mary); sister to Gerard C. Schuler and Bernadette Durapau (Bobby); grandmother to nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her children Chris Juneau and Desiree Nuschler, parents Joseph P. Schuler and Mary Cecilia Schuler, and brothers Joseph J. Schuler and Raymond L. Schuler.

Millie was a beloved soul who found joy in life's simple pleasures. Born on January 27, 1933 in New Orleans, LA, she departed from this world on November 15, 2023 at the age of 90, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and appreciation for the beauty around her.

Known for her gentle spirit, Millie had an extraordinary love for flowers, plants, and the soothing melodies of music. Her home was a testament to the vibrant colors of blooming flowers and the calming presence of greenery. Whether it was the delicate petals of her flowers or the leaves of a potted plant, she found solace and joy in nature's creations.

Music, to Millie, was more than just sound; it was a lifeline that connected her to the emotions that words couldn't express. Whether swaying to the rhythm of a classic tune or quietly listening to the melodies of nature, she found profound happiness in these moments.

May Millie rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the flowers she cherished, the plants she nurtured, and the music that will forever serenade her soul.

A visitation for Mildred will be held Monday, November 27, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA 70043.

A committal service will follow at St. Louis #3 Cemetery, 3421 Esplanade Ave, New Orleans, LA 70119.
