Edward Charles Wegener

Edward Charles Wegener, age 72 years, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at his home in Branson, MO. Beloved husband of Geneva Rhodes Wegener, and the late Eleanor Woodruff Wegener by first marriage and the late Sandra Sanders Wegener by second marriage. Loving father of Pamela Elizabeth Wegener (Brian Griffith), Peggy Wegener Cooley (Bryan Cooley), Paul David Wegener (Shannon Kattengell Wegener), and Theresa Lynne Wegener Tusa. Son of the late Hildrith Zeairs Wegener and Cleo Nunenmacher Wegener. Brother of Hildrith Zeairs Wegener, Jr. (Sara Aiavolasiti Wegener) and Barbara Wegener Gerstner (the late Fred Gerstner, III). Grandfather of Samantha Lynn Wegener, Matthew Paul Wegener, and the late Allison Renee Tusa. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Edward was a proud graduate of Holy Cross High School in New Orleans. He attended the University of New Orleans and graduated from Charity Hospital School of Radiology. Throughout his career, Edward worked in the Nuclear Medicine / Medical Sonography field at many hospitals in the New Orleans area. He was a member of Creedmoor Presbyterian Church in Toca, LA and First Presbyterian Church in Branson, MO. Edward had a passion for art and creativity. He enjoyed creating stained glass art, woodworking and painting. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial service at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 West Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA 70043 on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
