Donald Anthony Pierce

Donald Anthony Pierce, age 78, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away on March 15, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Donald is survived by his loving best friend, Janice Campbell Pierce; his children, Donald Alan Pierce; Warren Pierce and his wife, Karen; and Judith Pierce Paul and her husband, Joel; his grandchildren, Madison, Hunter, Alex, Nick, and Charlie; great-grandchild, Briley Marie; nephew “little” David and many much loved nieces.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Warren Charles Pierce and Marie Celino Pierce; his brothers, younger twin and lifetime best friend, David Anthony Pierce and older brother Gerald Anthony Pierce; and grandchild, Caden Lee Singletary.

Donald was born in New Orleans on September 23, 1944, the first of twins to the late Warren and Marie, and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard and St. Tammany Parishes until 1988 when a business transfer brought him to Texas. He retired after a 40-year career with ExxonMobil in their Exploration division. He could often be found shooting pool with beloved friends or spending time with Donnie. His fishing stories were legendary, as were his dancing skills. He believed family was the most important thing, and he always took care of his, along with anyone else in need. He loved getting together with his cousins and friends from St. Bernard, and he will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
