Bessie Mae Revere Teen

Bessie Mae Revere Teen passed away on November 13, 2021 in Baton Rouge, LA, at the age of 96. She was born in Bush, LA on January 3, 1925 to Annette Dutruch Revere and Cassie Revere. A resident of Chalmette, LA for 47 years. She was a devoted wife to the late Donald W. Teen. Bessie was the loving mother of Linda Teen Pennix (Butch), Irene Ansardi Plaisance and Alvin E. Crawford Jr., (Brenda). Proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. Sister of Shirley Taylor and Joyce Binder. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Marie Chimento, Ruby Sitnik, Maycelle Revere, Andrew Revere, Robert Revere and Griffin Revere.

Bessie’s greatest joy was raising her children and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved cooking and gardening and had a “green thumb” when it came to her plants. Bessie was also very devoted to her Catholic faith. In her earlier years she enjoyed working as a waitress. She will be forever remembered for her willingness to help others. Her memory will live forever in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on November 22, 2021 from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. Please consider donations in Bessie’s memory to St, Jude Children’s Hospital.
