Anthony Timothy Fabra passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the age of 85. He was the son of the late Lillian Belmonte Fabra and Anthony Fabra. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Cecile Martinez Fabra. Devoted father of Mark Fabra and Joey Fabra. Fondly known as Potch to his grandchildren, Lori Fabra, Emily Case (Walt), Beckett Fabra and Beau Fabra. Proud great grandfather of Jonathon, Justin, Jacob, Elisha, Isaac, Joseph and one great-great granddaughter Haisley. Brother of Constance Kelly and the late Wayne Fabra, Phylis Ruiz and Carmen Murden. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Born in New Orleans, LA, Tony spent 18 years of his life on Delacroix Island, where he became an integral part of the community. He had a distinguished career at Jackson Barracks, where he dedicated 35 years before retiring. After his retirement, he loved carving intricate decoys and birds, a hobby that brought him so much joy. He was proud to showcase his beautiful carvings at the Los Isleños Festival, where he was always excited to meet with old friends and share stories and some new carvings. He also enjoyed attending the St. Bernard Bird Festival and Museum Days, where he shared his passion with local schoolchildren, inspiring a love for art and nature. In addition to his creative pursuits, Tony was an avid fisherman and hunter. He cherished the moments spent with family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Tony's joy, kindness, and generosity will be forever cherished by those who knew him. His family and friends will deeply miss his presence, but the love and joy he brought into their lives will remain in their hearts forever. Rest in peace, dear Tony. The joy you gave us will be forever treasured and deeply missed by so many.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, December 17th from 9:30AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Mass in Tony’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. Tony will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
