Annelle Windham Busby

Annelle “Anne” Windham Busby, formerly of Chalmette, LA., recently residing in Slidell, LA., passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at the age of 105. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Jarred P. Windham and Lillie Jones Windham; her husband, Claude M. Busby; her daughter, Claudine B. Fulton; her siblings, Lois, Nolan, Jared, Ruby, Lillian, Virginia, Sam, Annie Mae, Joseph “Harold” and Eleanor. She is survived by her daughter Faye B. DeRose. Anne was the beloved “Grandma” to Whitney A. Fulton III, Deborah L. Fulton, JoAnn M. Fulton, Lisa D. May (Buddy), George M. Fulton (Bridget), Joseph DeRose Jr., Susan F. Murphy and Nicole D. Heidel (Kirk); great grandmother “GG” to Mallory, Stephanie, Stephen, Brian, Johnny, Megan, Joshua, Leo, Kirk, Victoria and Jonathan; great great grandmother to Averi, Emry and Jack.

Anne was born on September 30, 1917 in Sandersville, MS. She was a legal secretary for a number of years, after she retired she worked as a part-time church secretary at First Baptist Church of Chalmette and loved being a choir member and meeting all of the friends she made along the way. She was an avid sports fan and was an active bowler and loved LSU football and basketball. The family would like to thank the staff of Summerfield Senior living, Caretakers Sam and Myri, as well as Hospice Associates for their care and devotion. Service will be for immediate family only.
