Anna Theresa Culotta Colombo passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at the age of 92. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her very memorable life. She is the cherished wife of 73 years to Anthony Colombo. Loving mother of Anthony Colombo (Sherin), Victor Colombo (Claire) and Rocky Colombo (Shelley). Daughter of the late Philip and Josephine Culotta. Sister of Dora Colombo, Lena Mullet and Jean Mullet. Proud grandmother of Melissa Burns (Jeff), Mandy Gerrets (Ben), Kerri Caputo (Steve), Brandon Colombo (Jenny), Anthony Colombo (Jamie), Madeline Colombo, Jordan Giglio and Gabrielle Cuccia. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Anna was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in Slidell, LA. In her younger years, she worked hard and often with her husband Anthony on the boat and enjoyed selling the shrimp they caught. She truly enjoyed life through her simple pleasures of spending time with her family and friends, visiting her special corner at the Jubilee Casino, along with cooking and baking her amazing Italian Christmas cookies & cakes during the holidays, while passing down her special recipes. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and cared deeply for others. Anna will always be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family, her caring and loving spirit, her laughter, and spoiling the grandchildren. She was a wonderful example of what it means to care and provide for others and will be deeply missed by us all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, September 16th from 10:30AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass in Memory of Anna beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
