James Lawrence Carter, age 67, of Marion entered into rest on Friday, October 17, 2014 at his residence. Funeral service was held on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 2 PM at Sardis Baptist Church. Rev. Gervis Smith and Rev. Lee Wallace officiated. Visitation was held Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM at Rockco Funeral Home Centreville.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Carter of Maplesville; sons, Michael Carter of Maplesville and Kevan Carter(Donna) of Linden; daughters, Amanda Carter of Marion and Anna Dempsey(Rodney) of Selma; brothers, Jimmy Carter of Greenboro and Ellis Carter of Marion; sisters, Jeanette Crocker of Marion and Louise Reach of Alabaster; 5 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ola Mae Carter; 6 brothers and 1 sister.
Pallbearers were Rodney Dempsey, Eddie McClroy, James Fisher, Ken Carter, Devan Carter, Wesley Carter and Michael Carter. Honorary pallbearers, Alabama Dept. of Transportation Greensboro office.
