Dorothy was born August 8, 1932, to Robert and Lucille Ray Watson in Montevallo, Alabama. She was an example of someone with a strong work ethic. After retiring from Health Tex in Centreville, Alabama as a sewing inspector she worked for many years at Winn-Dixie in Brent, Alabama in the Bakery, finishing out 75 years of hardworking dedication at Lucky’s Foodland in Montevallo, Alabama.
Dorothy enjoyed many things in life. Her love for attending Church and reading the bible was unwavering. She also enjoyed vacationing with family, working in her garden, fishing, Jigsaw Puzzles, and her lunch and shopping dates with sister-in-law Louise and nephew Jason. She was the do-it-yourself kind with a love of reading, even picking up the Britannica Encyclopedia for something different.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lucille Watson, husband, Francis Tidwell Babb, brothers, Russell and Bobby Watson, daughter, Carolyn Wilson, granddaughters, Stephanie Farmer and Lisa Wilson. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Maloof, daughter, Linda Singleton (Donnie), sons, Steve Luna, Frank Babb, Wayne Babb, grandchildren, Melanie Lee (Michael), Janna Oneal (Anthony), Kyle Sanderson (Samantha), Heather Garner, Neeley Wilson, great-grandchildren, Sydni Bright(Steven), Joshua Anderson, Austin and Avery Oneal, Jayden, Bayler and Maclaire Farmer, Cole and Crosby Garner along with many nieces and nephews.
In celebration of her incredible journey through life there will be a viewing for family and friends 9:00-10:00 am on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Rocko’s Funeral Home in Centreville, Alabama, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am. After the funeral service we will travel to Enon Baptist Church on Hwy 25 North, Centreville, AL where she will be laid to rest surrounded by those who loved her.
