Don Simmons

Don was in the National Guard for 22 years. He was an equipment operator in the construction industry. Don loved his sons and grandchildren with all of his heart. He enjoyed hunting and racing.

He is survived by sons, Scott Brakefield and Wes Brakefield; grandchildren, Kailin Simmons, Haiden Simmons, Alex Gravitt, Noah Brakefield, Shep Brakefield, and Wynn Brakefield; sisters, Helen Champion and Diane Pierson; brother, Larry Simmons; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Simmons; son, Sammy Simmons; parents, Lc and Myrtle Simmons; and brother, Jimmy Simmons.

A visitation for Don will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, 805 Birmingham Rd, Centreville, Alabama 35042. His funeral service will occur Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 12:00 PM, 805 Birmingham Rd, Centreville, Alabama 35042 with the burial following at Pineland Memorial Cemetery, 3472 Montgomery Highway, Centreville, Alabama. The services will be officiated by Bro. Steve Vernon.

Pallbearers will be Haiden Simmons, Ronald Simmons, Grant Simmons, Kade Simmons, Lance Pierson, Alan Wyatt, Mike Hammer, and Junior Darden.
