Angela Medders Bobo of Plymouth, MI passed away to be with her Savior on June 2, 2018. She was born in Tuscaloosa, AL on July 15, 1959 to Tucker and JoAnn Medders of Brent. Angela is the cherished wife of Thomas Bobo for over 35 years. She is also survived by her adoring children, Stewart Bobo (Liz) and AmiAnn Royer (Mike), her three precious grandchildren Evangeline, Penelope, and Henry Royer, Angela’s mother JoAnn Medders of Brent, AL, and her brother Craig Medders (Jamie) and her sister,
Amanda Hardenbergh (Brian) of Birmingham, AL.
Angela was a precocious child with a wonderful personality, accomplished piano player and had a caring heart for people. Through these attributes she was named the Jr. Miss (Distinguished Young Woman) representative of Alabama in 1977. She attended and graduated from Troy University with a degree in primary education and enjoyed many years in the classroom before turning her attention to raising her family.
Her husband’s job took them to live and work in many areas of the country and even overseas. In each of these new relocation opportunities, Angela quickly made lifelong friends, volunteered to support the communities, and above all lived her faith through inspiring and encouraging women in Bible Studies activities, Home groups, and individual ministry. The fruitful impact she had during her life has
been echoed times over by those she inspired and comforted.
One of her passions was with the Distinguished Young Women’s Scholarship Program (Jr. Miss). She volunteered in many areas they lived in supporting this program and became a state judge for many neighboring states. Giving young women a chance to attend college through scholarship awards and assuring their self-value and self-worth was a driving value and part of her ministry and faith. She
served as the Chairperson for Distinguished Young Woman’s Program for Michigan for the past
5 years and through this, had a chance to positively touch many lives.
Her Celebration of Life service will be held at Brent Baptist Church, 2446 Main Street, Brent, Alabama, on Saturday, June 9. Visitation will begin at the church at 1:30pm at the church with the service starting at 3pm. Burial will follow at Brent Cemetery.
