I had the privilege of working with Ray back in July of 2018 (when this photo was taken), with my father, when constructing Floyd's shed.  A truly selfless person, extremely handy with tools; Ray would go out of his way to make sure if you needed a hand with anything, he was willing to help. It seems our best are taken home much too soon.

Dear Brenda, Rosetta and Victoria...

We're a few months away from the first anniversary of Ray going home to be with Lord and I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. 

As I was working at home this morning, I found the CDs of the funeral service Brenda sent me and decided to watch them. What a blessing! The spirit of love and faith you all conveyed on his behalf was truly a blessing to experience.  

You've never met me, Rosetta and Victoria, but I'm a longtime friend of your mom and the Parrish family, and I'm very proud to be part of your lives, even if thousands of miles away here in Washington, D.C.

May God bless you, comfort you and fill you with joy in the knowledge that Ray is smiling down on the three of you. 

I hope to visit you all in Chehalis some day, as I am about to retire.

Dearest Brenda and family,
I am so sorry Ray has gone on to be with Jesus so soon!  I know how it feels to lose someone so special suddenly.  Only the Lord and time can heal the wound.  You are in my thoughts and prayers constantly.   Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” 
Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.” 
Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”
I so appreciated all the things Ray helped me with.  He was such a sweet person and always willing to help!  I'll never forget the day Ray was coming home from work one day and saw me struggling to get the new gravel spread in my driveway with my gravel rake.  He went right home and got his tractor and spread the rest of the driveway!  What an angel!

I love this poem that was given to me when Jeff died.  I thought you would like it too.

In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone;
