Ottie, passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2024 at his home with his family surrounding him. He was born to James and Shirley (Burr) Rawlings on December 9, 1956 in Tacoma, Washington. The family moved to Rochester, Washington and this is where Ottie graduated high school in 1976. Ottie served in the Army as a Recovery Specialist. On March 7, 1987, Ottie married the love of his life, Dione Rachel Sterling. Together they raised two children, Allison and Adam. Ottie worked for the Department of Transportation in the Roads and Bridges Maintenance division for 16 years.
Ottie loved having Harley motorcycle adventures with his riding buddies. He loved having Dione riding behind him down a country road with loud music competing with the pipes on a sunny day. This brought him pure joy. His family, especially his grandchildren, and friends meant the world to him. He will be missed by all who loved him.
Ottie was preceded in death by his father Jim Rawlings. He is survived by his wife, Dione; daughter Allison and granddaughter Maddison; son Adam and fiancé Danielle; grandsons Jaxon and Wayne.
The family would like to thank all their family and friends for the support they have received from during this difficult time.
Military Honors Service for Ottie will take place Friday, August 30th, 2024 at 10:30am at Tahoma National Cemetery (18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042).
