Elizabeth Annie Plant, 95, passed away at her Chehalis, Wash., home on Monday, November 18, 2019. Elizabeth was born at home on ‘H’ Street in Centralia, Wash., on February 7, 1924, to Nels and Annie (Olson) Grandberg.
She went to work immediately after graduation from high school, and retired from her position as Lewis County Deputy Auditor at the age of 51. Elizabeth married Edward Clark Plant in 1944. She and Edward enjoyed 68 years of marriage and travel until his death in 2008.
Elizabeth was a lovely woman and a joy to be around. She formed a broad group of friends, with whom she enjoyed spending many hours. She loved animals, and made sure that she fed the little birds and squirrels on her property every day. Elizabeth loved gardening, canning, cooking, watching Mariners and Seahawks games, and Dancing with the Stars on TV.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Edward; parents, Nels and Annie; brother, Edward Granberg; and sister, Eileen Severns.
She is survived by her nephew, Bob Severns.
A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will take place at 11 AM on Friday, December 13, at Sticklin Funeral Chapel, 1437 S Gold Street, Centralia, with Pastor Dan Schaefer officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Chapel’s Hospitality Room. Interment will be private at Salkum Cemetery.
