He was born in Winnfield, La., Oct. 14, 1939. Mr. Smiley was married to the love of his life, Gloria Smiley and now he has been reunited with her.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army for six years. Afterwards, he went back to Louisiana, where he hauled logs for a living. After retiring, David moved to Washington to be with his children and grandchildren, where he could enjoy watching sports and taking walks throughout town.
Mr. Smiley is survived siblings, Alvin, Vera, Threa and Wilburn; children, David, Carl, Glenda, Kayla, Katrina and Cristy; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Renton June 10, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. Black attire please. The memorial service will be held at Grace Foursquare Church in Centralia June 11, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. Causal nice attire.
