Kenny Dayle Kling, age 76, passed away surrounded by his family on August 11, 2024. He graduated from Baton Rouge High in 1965 and went to LSU where he was the All-around Champion of LSU Block and Bridle Rodeo in 1973. He held a membership with the American Cowboy Association and was the former President of Tri-State Rodeo Association. Kenny held the title of Arena Director at various local and national rodeo associations throughout the Southeast. He was a former member of Local Union 198 and later became a project engineer at EPIC piping where he retired after his long career. Kenny could always be found at the rodeo enjoying the time and events with his families for years and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Shelley Browning Kling, son, John Kling and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Jacob, Torre, Jay, Daniel, Leah, Tyson, and Anna; brother-in-law, Rusty Browning and wife Michele, niece and nephew, Sydney and Brodie Browning.
Kenny is preceded in death by his parents, Effie and Kent Kling; son, James Howard Kling, as well as in –laws, Sidney and Joyce Browning.
Relatives and Friends are invited to the Chapel of Central Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Rd Central, LA, 70818 on Friday August 16, 2024 for a visitation beginning at 5:00PM until 8:00PM. Relatives and friends are then invited back for the continuance for visitation on Saturday August 17, 2024 beginning at 9:00AM until the funeral service begins at 10:00AM. Burial is to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Danny Gillen, Dale Cane, Brodie Browning, Ronnie Deville, Ken Raye and Jacob Kling.
