Susan G. Cathcart

Susan Cathcart, Levittown’s own sweetheart, has died after putting up a valiant fight against cancer, at the age of 74. She was the loving wife of Robert "Bobby", who she loved since the day they met at Island Trees Junior High School when they were both 14 years old. Susan was the devoted mom to Christopher (Amanda) and adoring grandma "GiGi" to Aiden, Katie, Autumn, and Liam, as well as big sister to her brother Mark, who sadly passed away last year. She was the dear sister-in-law of June Moynihan and the cherished aunt of Jennifer (Aniello) De Luca, Keith (Sharon) Bretzfield, Matthew Bretzfield, Suzanne Livigni and Lorraine (Andy) Denninger. She was also the best friend in the world to Judy Wyman Werner and Pam Engel Serie since they were two years old. Susan helped organize Island Trees’ 40th, 45th, and 50th Class of ’65 Reunions, and will always remain a beloved “Bulldog". She had a knack for genealogy and helped many people track down their long-lost ancestors. She went back to school to become a paralegal and always made the lawyers she worked for seem so smart! She had a love of cats and made it her and Bob’s mission to rescue any cat in the neighborhood who did not have a home. Susan had the biggest heart in the world and was always there for her family and friends whenever they needed her. Her smile would light up a room wherever she went. She will be missed forever.

A visitation for Susan will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 2326 Middle Country Rd, Centereach, New York 11720. A religious service will occur Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 1:00 PM, 2326 Middle Country Rd, Centereach, New York 11720. An interment will occur Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton, New York 11933.
