Peter E. Fraser, age 80, of Deep River passed away on March 5, 2015 at Middlesex Memorial Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was the caring husband of Caroline J. Fraser for 52 years. Peter was born on February 6, 1935 in Nashua N.H., the son of Dr. Ernest Fraser and Doris Aubert Fraser. Mr. Fraser is survived by daughters Doris Fraser of Chester, CT and Lisa Fraser of Hinsdale, NH and son Matthew Fraser and his wife Lori Fraser of Chesapeake, VA. He also leaves his beautiful grand-children Thea, Eliza, Nathan and Kayla whom he dearly loved. He is also survived by his sister Susan Turcotte and her husband Richard Turcotte of Somersworth, NH, his brother Paul Fraser and his wife Joan Fraser of Middletown, RI and his brother Mark Fraser of Maryland. Mr. Fraser graduated from high school in Nashua and attended Holy Cross College, his father's alma mater. Peter entered the Army in June of 1955 and served in Korea where he became a member of the United Nations Command Military Armistice Commission. Peter was an active member of the Deep River community serving on the Zoning Board of Appeals. He worked for many years until his retirement from National Lumber in North Haven. He was best known as an avid golfer and bowler who shared his enthusiasm with his wife Carol and served on the Clinton Country Club Board of Directors. In his younger years, he enjoyed serving as a lifeguard at Wells Beach, Maine. He also was a lifetime member of the Elk's Lodge in Nashua, NH. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 48 Middlesex Ave., Chester, CT on March 13, 2015 at 10:30am. Burial will be held privately. The Fraser family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Deep River Food Pantry located at 174 Main St., Deep River, CT.
