That's me at my 100th birthday party. Cheese and crackers that was the best celebration ever. And now two years later, I'm off on another adventure. I have had a wonderful life, but now its time for me to go.
My life was ideal. I was the only child of William and Katherine Collins. My mother was the most wonderful person. She was the best cook and for many years was the master cook at a frat house at Wesleyan University. We moved to Meriden and spent time in Florida. Years later I met Otto Forster who became my husband and best friend. Shortly there after our 1st son Stephen was born and a year after that our son Peter. Because the boys were getting older we decided to have another child and along came our daughter Virginia. Through the years I was involved in politics in Saybrook, was instrumental in the building of the Acton Public Library and in later years involved in the Killingworth library. Otto and I traveled quite a bit. Our son Stephen passed away of cancer and not to long after our 50th wedding anniv. Otto passed away. Shortly after that I moved to Griswold to be near my daughter Virginia. For the past 14 yrs. we have had the best time going all over shopping and having lunch with each other.
I am leaving my daughter Virginia Lach and her husband Paul of Griswold, my son Peter Forster and his wife Dee of Punta Gorda, Fl, daughter in law Judi Forster Linscott and her husband Colin of Old Saybrook. Also my grandson Jeffery Forster of New London, Michael Forster of Old Saybrook, Jennifer Forster Collies and her family of Simsbury Ct and Christopher Forster of Port Charlotte, Fl. My great grand children Susan and Stephen Forster of Colorado, Spencer and Lily Collies of Simsbury, CT, Hannah Forster of Old Saybrook and Chelsey Forster of Texas along with my 1st great grand daughter.
My family invites you to a graveside service for me on August 17, 2017 at 11:00AM in the Resurrection Cemetery, Route 145 in Westbrook.
In lieu of flowers, you can send a donation in my name to Kitty Harbor Cat Shelter, 2263 Glasgo Rd, Griswold CT. 06351. If you wish to share a memory of me or send a condolence to my family please visit www.rwwfh.com
Adieu … I will miss you all and will see you on the other side.
