was born September 18, 1923 in Chicago Illinois.
He was married to the late Dorothy J.
Jonas and the late Betty R. Jonas. He
peacefully passed Sunday, March 29, 2015
at the age of 91. Bob served in the Army
Air Force during WWII. He was captain &
squadron leader of B24 bombers and flew
over Germany. After relocating to Denver
CO, he left the Army. Bob worked as an engineer
for Public Service (Xcel Energy) and
later Fuelco, a subsidiary of Public Service.
While Bob was at Fuelco, the Leyden mine
was converted to gas storage and provided
natural gas to the Western Slope and other
major gas lines. Bob retired in 1989 from
Fuelco as CEO and General Manager. After
retirement Bob and Betty were active in
volunteering at: Four Mile Historic Park, Museum
of Nature and Science, and several
hospitals. Bob was also member of the Denver
Optimist Club. Bob and Betty enjoyed
traveling with family, friends & groups on
ventures by bus, boat, and plane around
the world. Bob is survived by 8 children, 4
grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A
graveside service will be held 10:30 AM
Tuesday, April 7, 2015 with a Memorial
Luncheon to follow at 11:00 AM at Olinger
Chapel Hill Mortuary and Cemetery.
