and God decided that he needed her back home. Peggy was born in Cheyenne, WY on February 17, 1955
and resided in Westminster, Colorado. Tragically, she was struck by a car in a crosswalk while doing one
of her favorite things, walking her little dog Zoe.
Family meant everything to Peggy. When asked what she did for a living, she would say “Well first I am
mother to my children Amber, Adam and Kayla.” She was very humble about her successful 43‐year
career as an engineer for the telephone company. She always said that didn’t define her ‐ being a
mother did. She thrived in her retirement spending her days with her kids and grandkids, walking,
beading, jewelry making, volunteering, gardening and watching sports.
Peggy was an angel that brightened the lives of anyone who was fortunate to meet her. Words that her
community has used to describe her are loving, vibrant, extremely intelligent, thoughtful, forgiving,
humble, creative, grateful, generous and an all‐around wonderful person
.
Peggy was a rare gem who loved fiercely and unconditionally. Everywhere she went she had a smile and
left others with her afterglow. We should all aspire to be a little bit more like her each day. She has now
begun her watch over us as our Guardian Angel, but a piece of us will forever be missing.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Lorene Christensen; sister, Connie Oestereich
(Shawn and Brandi); as well as her daughter, Amber Rice. She is survived by her brother, Ron
Christensen (Barbara); son‐in‐law, Travis Rice (Summer and Lucas); son, Adam Clark (Stacey and Nolan);
and daughter Kayla Mumby (Jarrin, Avery, Carter and Annabelle); as well as her dog Zoe, a large
extended family and a multitude of friends.
A celebration of Peggy’s life will begin at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 23rd at Olinger Funeral, Cremation
& Cemetery – Chapel Hill at 6601 South Colorado Blvd in Centennial, CO. A reception with food and
drinks will follow.
