Michael was born in New York City, on January 22, 1957, before moving to Upper Arlington, Ohio. He received both his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and his J.D. from The Ohio State University. Michael first worked with Schottenstein Zox & Dunn in Columbus, Ohio, kickstarting a wonderful career in health care law.
After moving to Colorado, he practiced with Stromberg Cleveland Crawford & Schmidt P.C.
His many accomplishments include chairing the Colorado Bar Association Health Law Section, lecturing at seminars and conferences nationally, and being awarded a Denver Top Rated Health Care Attorney designation in 2008. Michael poured his heart and soul into his work, and those who knew him absolutely admired him.
On October 16, 1993, he married the love of his life, Jill Peters. On July 22, 1998, and October 1, 2000, respectively, he welcomed his two daughters, Megan and Brooke, who were the most important part of his life.
Michael was a devoted father and an adventurous person. He enjoyed skiing, hiking, and cycling in the Rockies. Michael was a talented athlete; he ran multiple marathons and triathlons throughout his life. He was also a spiritual man and was involved in church activities at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
Michael battled brain cancer with amazing grace, bravery, and strength for the last 19 years of his life. He lived every day with positivity and determination to provide for his family and give them a wonderful life. He was unendingly proud of Jill, Megan, and Brooke.
He will be deeply missed by his friends and family, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will be carried on by his brothers, Ed and Greg, and his sister, Donna. We take comfort in knowing that Michael is now at peace, cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and those he loves from up above.
We miss you and love you,
Jill, Megan, and Brooke
