Mark "Pete" Peterson went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 17, 2024 at the age of 67. Mark's early years were spent in small farm towns in the Dakotas. In 1961, during the buildup of the Cold War, his father was ordered to fulltime duty as an Army Chaplain and Mark spent the next 20 years as an Army brat, touring this country and Europe.
Mark moved back to the Denver area in the mid 90s and was very active at Mission Hills Church ever since. He served as usher, greeter and volunteer with the children's AWANA program. He also sang in the choir for a few years, and participated in their softball team and bowling league.
Mark's life was spent overcoming a few medical challenges, such as encephalitis twice, Schilder's Disease, and cancer. Through all the struggles, he never considered himself "handicapped." His view was that this was the body God gave him and he was going to use it in service to his Lord. While Mark will be greatly missed, we rejoice with him in now having a heavenly body to use while singing God's praises.
A memorial service will be held at Mission Hills Church in Littleton on July 29, 2024 at 2:00pm. Viewing will begin at 1:00pm.
