He was born on April 12, 1937 in Berthoud, Colorado to Lloyd G Russell and Violet A Sexton. Larry met his wife Marilyn in high school thru his sister Patsy. After many years of trying to win her heart, he finally did, and they were married on May 14, 1958.
Larry worked as an iron worker for the majority of his career and was very skilled in his craft. He served in the US Army from July 5, 1960 to June 30, 1966. He was proud of his military service and was even more proud when his grandson also joined the Armed Forces.
Larry was extremely hard working and did everything necessary to provide for his family. He enjoyed playing poker with his family. He was quite the practical joker – some of his favorite things to do during the holidays was to create scavenger hunts for the family to look for their presents, or wrap them in an impossible fashion – including unusual amounts of duct tape. He also had a tendency to break into random songs – his favorites being Chickery chick cha-la cha-la… or Mighty Moose. You never knew!
He will be missed by his sister Collene and her husband Marv, his son Shawn, Shawn’s wife Corrie, his daughter Jennifer, and grandson Clayton and his wife Symonne.
He is preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, his parents Lloyd and Violet, his sister Patsy and his three sons Timothy, Bryan and David.
