Kathleen Anderson Wagner, age 73, of Lone Tree, Colorado passed away on Thursday October 25, 2018. Kathleen was born January 13, 1945 in Richmond, Virginia. After completing her Master’s degree in Library Science from Columbia University, she worked as a librarian in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for several years, before moving to Colorado, where she lived for more than 39 years.
A true people person, Kathleen was loved by all she came in contact with. She was passionate about her family and friends, both near and far, and kept in regular contact with them. Kathleen possessed a natural curiosity about the world, and loved reading and learning. She was passionate about traveling and music, especially the opera, and she loved everything British. A generous soul, Kathleen worked for Wildwood Resources for 15 years, distributing food program funding for underprivileged youth. For several decades she was involved in the American Association of University Women (AAUW), working to empower women through education, advocacy, and research.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 50 years, Nicholas Wagner; her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Wagner; and many friends that Kathleen considered family.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Rosanna Grace (Smit) and Irving Fredrick Anderson; her brother, Douglas Anderson; and her sister, Christine Ingraham.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary and Cemetery, 6601 Colorado Blvd, Centennial, Colorado 80121, followed by a Committal Service in the cemetery at 3:00 pm. A Reception will begin in the Summit Room at 3:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kathleen's honor to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BRCF) or the American Association of University Women (AAUW).
