Born on November 27, 1940 and passed away on January 28, 2022. Joe was 81 years old.
Joe resided in Littleton, CO since 1965 and succumbed after an illness at Swedish Medical Center surrounded by Family.
Born in San Francisco CA on 11/27/1940 to Mr and Mrs Robert Higbee, Joe grew up in Utah and the family moved to Colorado Springs in 1958. He had 6 siblings which included 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Joe joined the army in 1959 and was stationed in Germany. While stationed at Ft. Carson he met Sharon Ann Springborn in 1961. They married on 06/02/62 and moved to Ft Richardson, Juneau, AK in Dec 1962. They then moved back to Colorado Springs CO in Dec 1964 with an honorable discharge from the army.
Joe moved the family to Littleton, Colorado where he resided until his death. After moving to Littleton, he started at Thomas Plating, and then moved on to Kubut Equipment while working at Woodlawn Texaco on weekends, as well as serving in the Colorado Army National Guard. Joe worked for various companies being an over the road truck driver for over 20 years. He retired from the Colorado National Guard Military Police in 1995.
He had a love for dogs. He loved Westerns whether it be reading or watching them on tv or movies. He loved old Country Western music – especially Hank Williams. He loved camping and fishing so much that all family vacations while his girls grew up were camping adventures.
He had a love for his family especially his grandsons and grand fur babies. He always wanted to own a jackass – but never had the opportunity. His favorite haunts were the Waffle House, Breakfast Queen and for a while Louis was on the list of favorite haunts.
He is preceded into death by his wife Sharon, his grandson Corbin Higbee and his parents, Robert and Nina Higbee, his brothers Bill Higbee, Bob Higbee and Ben Higbee and his sister Violet Wynn.
He is survived by his daughters Melanie Higbee (Carl Sivak) Lynn Sanders (Charlie) his grandsons Trent Higbee (Kimmy Moore) and Carl Wagner (Tiffany Cargill). He is also survived by his sisters Glory Kiick and Viola Farmer including several great grandkids and nieces and nephews.
