Our Beloved Mother, Dorothy M. Webb, went to be with the Lord on October 8, 2024, in Fort Collins, CO. Born in Sterling, CO on July 5, 1927, she resided there until 1952, when she married James F Webb. And off they went!
Our Mother was, like many, the “rock” that kept our family running while dad was working. It was surely during those days of raising 3 boys that she became a wonderful cook. If you ever had the chance to experience one of her holiday feasts, you know how much love and care she put into her cooking. She put that amazing talent to work for a while, working in and eventually managing a school cafeteria in Lakewood, CO. She did this during our school years, so she could see us off in the mornings and then be back home when we arrived from school.
Our family settled in Lakewood in 1964, where they purchased what would become their “forever” home. Because of their strong religious beliefs, it didn’t take long for them to find what would become their “forever” church, Phillips United Methodist Church. This church and the community of people my mother enjoyed there, created life-long friendships that continued all her living days.
Our Mother (and Father) lived a life of selfless dedication to others. The church was, of course, the focus of her volunteerism, but it expanded into so many other areas. The Jeffco Action Center, Meals-On-Wheels, League of Women Voters, refugee relief support, and numerous others. Her life of compassionate giving was, and is, an inspiration to all who had the blessing to have known her.
Her love for All was boundless.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, James E Webb. She is survived by three sons, James L. Webb (Barbara), Gary L. Webb (Alice), Kenneth D. Webb (Kam), and numerous grand/great-grand/great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Phillips United Methodist Church, 1450 S Pierce St, Lakewood.CO 80232
In lieu of flowers, our Mother would be blessed if donations would be sent to, the ActionCenter (the ActionCenter.org), Phillips United Methodist, or the organization of your choosing.
