Dean Alan Martin, 56, passed away in Littleton, Colorado on April 3, 2023. Dean was born on September 3, 1966 in Denver, Colorado, to William (Bill) and Dianne Martin (Oswald). Dean graduated from Niwot High School (Niwot, Colorado) in 1985. He played basketball and wrestled for the Niwot Cougars. Dean lived the majority of his life in Colorado except for three years of elementary school while living in Kansas and New Mexico. After graduation, Dean followed in his Dad’s footsteps and started working in the lumber industry. He began his career in 1984 working for Diamond Lumber Company and through a series of corporate acquisitions later worked for BMC West, Boise Cascade, AllCoast Forest Products, Cedar Creek and BlueLinx. He thoroughly enjoyed the industry and was a well-respected Lumberman.
Dean was a wonderful, generous and dedicated Dad, Grandpa (Papa), Brother and Uncle. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and exploring numerous off-road trails in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. His wry smile, quick wit and storytelling abilities will be remembered by us all. Dean was also a talented builder, woodworker and craftsman. He enjoyed working with his hands and felt at home when working on a project. While these things brought him great joy, the greatest joy of Dean’s life was his family.
Dean is survived by his daughter Kimberly Martin, spouse MJ and grandchildren Avery and Gracie (Castle Pines, CO); brother Duane Martin, spouse Connie (Littleton, CO) and their children Caitlin Murray, spouse Gabe and their son Roman (Ft. Collins, CO); and Ryan Martin (Denver, CO).
